Key is: never rest, never stop moving, doing, creating. Exercise, see only friends who you are comfortable with, see your mom, only stop to sleep and even then do not dream. Waking up is pain. Do not lay there and drown in it. Do not obsess and analyze details that are not relevant. Go to therapy. Wake up with the sun and stretch move move move. Get up and write your affirmations on your mirror. Write them on a piece of paper for your pocket. Tape them to the dash of your car. Everything will still hurt and ache anyway. Don’t think ahead, don’t think behind, don’t assume anything. Stay present *now now now*. Watch water. Mimic water. Be and move like water. Live for yourself, work for yourself, do for yourself, love for yourself, take care of yourself, take care of each other. Learn from each other. Surround yourself with animals and plants and things that smell good. Sweat everyday. Cry when it comes don’t hold it in even if you are in public. Don’t hold feelings in. Stay hydrated stay moisturized. Don’t keep your words jammed in your throat in your head in your heart.

After finishing Kafka on the Shore I was frustrated that so much was left unanswered and I kept trying to make logical connections between characters and the story. It left me annoyed because I wanted to make sense of the small details that make up the plot. This article is good at explaining why and how you should read Murakami’s stories by dropping those little details and read without trying to put meaning behind most of it. Read this!

Hi friend! Thank you! Nick shops at Uniqlo mostly! They have great linen shirts and jeans - good basics. Theory + Vince are more splurgy but they have awesome sales and you can get sweet sweaters/light jackets for a reasonable price. Also highly recommend “Greats” shoes! I mostly shop around local boutiques like Bird and Frances May etc for cool finds.
i’ve had a migraine all day and work was exhausting as hell, but N is cooking us steak and listening to a wedding playlist he started for us and idk things feel pretty good despite some head suffering.
i think i’m going to finally buy myself the ultimate dream MNZ sandals for spring (aka most expensive shoes i’ll have ever purchased for myself) or the rachel comey mars mules i’ve been after for FOREVER and a couple years tacked on that with some $ saved, bday $ coming to me, and tax refund $. feels good to work hard.
